Expect the DLSU Green Spikers to come out with guns ablaze when they take on NU for the no. 2 spot in the UAAP Final Four.
De La Salle's JM Ronquillo is under no illusion the road from here is going to be easy.
This after the Green Spikers forced a playoff for the no. 2 spot against defending champion NU by way of a 25-20, 25-27, 25-20, 25-18 win over UST in the UAAP Season 86 men’s volleyball tournament on Saturday, April 27 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
But Ronquillo is confident that his squad, which is tied with the Bulldogs with an 11-3 record, can continue conjuring magic.
“Momentum namin is good,” Ronquillo said. “Hopefully magawa namin hanggang dulo. Naniniwala ako na laro namin paakyat, di pababa.”
La Salle coach Jose Roque echoed his sentiment, but said the Green Spikers are taking it one game at a time.
“Gaya ng nababanggit ko, every game talaga gagawin namin best namin,” he said. “Gagawain naman lahat para makuha twice-to-beat.”
Ronquillo couldn’t agree more with his mentor.
Whatever the outcome, La Salle is relishing the opportunity to be in such a position.
“Masaya dahil may opportunity na pwede i-grab. No regrets talaga, laban lang hanggang dulo,” Ronquillo said.
