Filipinos can now watch the Filipinas on TV!
Finally, Filipinos no longer need to turn the internet upside down just to catch the games of the Philippine national women’s football team.
Just in time before the historic debut of the Filipinas in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Cignal TV secured the Philippine broadcast rights of the prestigious tournament.
“This is an exciting development for football fans in the Philippines with the Filipinas’ matches in the FIFA Women’s World Cup to be shown live on free television and other platforms of Cignal TV,” said PFF president Mariano “Nonong” Araneta.
“Cignal stepped up and made sure that the Filipinas’ historic campaign will be available in the Philippines. This is not just a historic moment for the Filipinas but for the entire country and having a broadcaster ensures that we all enjoy the moment together,” Araneta added.
Fans will have options to watch all the football action.
The preliminary games will be made available on free-to-air television via One Sports (channel 41 on free TV, channel 6 on Cignal). Those who prefer mobile streaming, on the other hand, can download the Pilipinas Live app via Apple Store or Google Play store. Pilipinas Live is an on-demand platform that can show the matches anytime, anywhere.

PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes thanked Cignal for its commitment in showcasing the Filipinas in the country’s first-ever participation in the FIFA's flagship event.
“This year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup is the biggest one yet and for Filipinos, it really is more meaningful because we are represented there and the Philippine flag will fly proudly amongst those of 31 other countries,” said Gastanes.
“Having a broadcaster in the Philippines goes a long way in our efforts in promoting The Beautiful Game.”
Women’s national squad team manager Jefferson Cheng also hailed Cignal’s acquisition of broadcast rights to the Filipinas’ matches.
“We are grateful to Cignal for making sure that Filipinos eager to support the PWNFT at the Women’s World Cup now have one less thing to fret about,” said Cheng. “Cignal surely made a lot of people happy today. Maraming salamat.”
The 46th-ranked Filipinas will play their first group phase game against 20th-ranked Switzerland on July 21, 1 p.m.
Their second match will be versus host and world no. 26 New Zealand on July 25, 1:30 p.m. The last preliminary game is against powerhouse and world no. 12 Norway on July 30, 3 p.m. All times mentioned are in Manila time.
Led by revered coach Alen Stajcic, the Filipinas are ready to shock the world.
