Fans will have to wait until the eve of Gilas Pilipinas' opener in the FIBA World Cup to know the final lineup of the national team. Coach Chot Reyes and the rest of the Gilas coaching staff are taking their sweet time to decide which players will represent the country in the biggest stage of basketball.

Coach Chot will have to cut three or more players from the current pool. There won't be any surprise addition anymore.

"Right now, our team is set, we have 15 players. Ang injured na lang natin si Scottie Thompson, the 16th player and we have team manager's technical meeting on August 23-24 to name the final 12," Reyes told One Ph's Sa Totoo Lang.

"We're not in a rush. But as far as I'm concerned ito 'yung team. This is our team. We're 15-strong. Ito 'yung team natin."

Aside from Thompson, Kai Sotto's status also remains unresolved with an ailing back casting doubts on the 7-foot-3's possible stint with Gilas. In the worst-case scenario that both Kai and Scottie couldn't make it, Reyes will only need to cut two more for the Final 12.
