It's Rhenz Abando's world now and we're all just living in it.
Since his electric performance in the FIBA World Cup, which made everyone become instant members of the Rhenz Abando Super Fans Club Pinas Chapter, the ultra-athletic wingman has been the toast of the town.
The unassuming 25-year-old from La Union proved that he could hang—even quite literally—with the best of 'em, providing Gilas Pilipinas with spunk, moxie, and energy against. His high-flying blocks in the FIBA World Cup deserve their own mixtape.
With his high-wire acts, he's been dubbed by many as Air Abando.
But for his girlfriend, Rizyl Diamante, there's a more apt nickname: Air Sunget.
She posted on Instagram Story a sweet picture of her and Abando with the caption: "Air Sunget Abando nambawan!" Diamante added: "I love you, daddy!"
The Anyang KGC star reposted it on his Instagram Story and replied: "I love you, mommy."
Obviously, Diamante's nickname for Abando was all in good fun. A term of endearment, most probably. Because judging by his easy-going personality, the former NCAA Finals MVP doesn't look grumpy at all. He even dropped the perfect joke for Dwight Ramos that swiftly went viral.
Abando, however, has been more private about his relationship, as he rarely posts about it.
While it would've been a definite plus to have him on Gilas Pilipinas' roster for the upcoming Asian Games, he's already been ruled out because of his schedule in the KBL. They are set to defend the crown and for sure, Abando will be a marked man once the season begins.
How do you say "sunget" in Korean?
