From volleyball to acting?
After showcasing their prowess inside the volleyball court for years, Creamline Cool Smashers hitter Tots Carlos and F2 Logistics Cargo Movers veteran Ara Galang are set to take their talents to the film industry, at least according to filmmaker Antoinette Jadaone.
In a tweet, the director behind "That Thing Called Tadhana," "Alone/Together," and "Fan Girl" shared a picture of the volleybelles on set.
It said, "Nasa set na sila! Tots and Ara in their acting era????"
Jadaone thanked Carlos and Galang and said their appearance "means so much to us."
Asked for the context of the athlete's film cameo, the filmmaker said it's for a high school volleyball-themed Cinemalaya entry to be directed by Samantha Lee, who was behind the award-winning "Baka Bukas" feature. According to her IMDb profile, "Lee is a filmmaker who advocates for better representation of women and the LGBTQ+ community in local cinema."
