Mylene Paat is a natural athlete indeed.

Doing some fine-tuning before heading to Cambodia for the Southeast Asian Games, the Philippine women’s national volleyball team kept things light in practice on Wednesday, particularly Mylene Paat.

During a break in training, the 5-foot-11 opposite hitter decided to display her skills in another sport. Yep, Mama P knows a thing or two about shooting hoops.

Training in a facility that also serves as a basketball court, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers stalwart took a volleyball, dribbled it up beyond the top of the key, and shot it.

Her form appeared to be flawless. Paat’s shoulders were squared to the basket. Her eyes glued to the target. And her stroke was pure.

We’re not exaggerating. Check the video, and tell us whether or not her follow-through was thing of beauty.

With an exquisite shooting from she splashed the trey. And in celebration, she ran after the ball like a 5-year-old excitedly entering a Kidzoona.

Mama P, who may be drawing a lot of her energy from getting engaged to Kazakh volleyball player Sergey Rezanov, is set to join the rest of the nationals on May 9 to begin their SEA Games campaign against hosts Cambodia.

But in a year or two, are we going to see Mama P playing hoops full time? Why not, she’s got the height. If you're not convinced because she didn't use a real basketball, at least you have to admit that she has the potential.

Kidding aside, she seems to be on a roll lately. Seeing it continue, and maybe even rub off on the rest of the members of the Philippine contingent, would definitely be a treat.
