Kai Sotto will play for another season in Japan after signing an extension with the Hiroshima Dragonflies for the 2023-2024 season.

The Japan B.League confirmed the news on Facebook on Wednesday.

But it doesn't mean that the 7-foot-2 center will abandon his NBA dreams. According to Dragonflies general manager Shuji Okazaki, Kai has the option to opt out if the opportunity arises.

"So if he signs with an NBA team this summer, there is a possibility that his contract with Hiroshima will be canceled," said Okazaki.

The 21-year-old Sotto averaged 9.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in his debut season in Japan. The Dragonflies finished sixth with a 41-18 record but bowed out in the quarterfinals.
