Is there a reunion at hand?
In the recent exhibition game of the PBA Motoclub in Canada, PBA legends Rico Maierhofer and Jayjay Helterbrand got into some sort of a prank war, wherein they sneakily tried to pull each other’s pants down every chance they got.
On Maierhofer’s Instagram Story on Monday, Helterbrand was seen successfully dropping the power forward’s trousers, drawing laughter inside the team’s dugout.
Finally, the former De La Salle Green Archer confronted the 2009 PBA MVP to sort out how their pantsing beef really started. Jayjay admittedly was the instigator, saying he had learned it from his old Barangay Ginebra San Miguel backcourt mate Mark Caguioa.
“Tanong mo sa’kin kung saan ko nakuha ‘yan, kay Caguioa. Laging ganiyan ‘yan,” Helterbrand divulged to Maierhofer.
Dubbed the Fast and the Furious during their heyday in the PBA, Jayjay and Mark were arguably the league’s top duo from the mid to late 2000s. For sure, the two speedsters forged a special bond between them, having won several championships together.
Maybe that’s why it was so easy for Helterbrand to throw jabs at Caguioa as he invited him to join the PBA Motoclub.
“Hoy, sumama ka na sa’min. Nami-miss ka na ng mga fans mo,” the six-time PBA champion told The Spark.
“Masaya dito, sobrang enjoy. Baka tumataba ka na, maglaro ka na lang dito,” he added.
The PBA Motoclub is a group made up of retired PBA players who collectively do vlogs and conduct exhibition games in and out of the country. Without a doubt, Caguioa’s inclusion to the crew will be received positively by Filipino hoop fans all over the world.
