Philippine tennis ace Alex Eala is aiming for a deeper run in her second crack at the senior division of the Australian Open this coming January.
The 18-year-old athlete has been included in the updated qualifying entry list for the first Grand Slam of 2024. Eala debuted in her first Australian Open earlier this year but crashed out of the prestigious tournament in the opening round against Japanese Misaki Doi. The current world number 189 is raring to prove that she's improved after a year's time.
In her Instagram, Eala shared that she was on her way to Australia.
Big names expected to also play in the qualifying events are former US Open champion Emma Raducanu and former world number five Sara Errani.
