Dwight's season-high in points highlights scattered results for Pinoys in the B1.
Dwight Ramos came to play, but even his best-scoring game of the year can’t stop the Jets.
Ramos scored a season-high 19 points, putting a strong effort in Levanga Hokkaido’s 82-89 road loss to Chiba Sunday.
Dwight, who has been struggling quite a bit lately, snapped a five-game drought of scoring in just single digits. However, the Jets proved to be steadier in the endgame, closing with a 12-6 run after Hokkaido cut the deficit to one with 2:27 left.
In other B1 results, Matthew Wright’s Kyoto Hannaryz also took a tough one, losing in overtime to the Gunma Crane Thunders, 93-100.
Wright, who has come alive as of late for Kyoto, continued his fine play, pouring 23 points albeit in a losing effort.
Another one getting his bearings together lately is RJ Abarrientos, who scored 19 points against Alvark Tokyo for his third-best scoring game in Japan. Unfortunately, his Shinshu Brave Warriors were no match for the league-leading Alvark Tokyo, 63-81.
It wasn’t all gloomy for Pinoys in Japan Sunday, as Thirdy Ravena (6 points) and his San-en NeoPhoenix steamroll the Fighting Eagles Nagoya, 90-62, to once again tie Tokyo for Japan’s best record.
Ray Parks Jr. (4 points) and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins beat division rival Seahorses Mikawa, 94-82, to stay within striking distance of the competitive West.
Kai Sotto’s integration to Yokohama continues, as the 7’3” center contribute seven points in a 97-91 victory over Osaka Evessa. It’s the third time in seven games that Sotto went perfect from the field.
