Dwight Ramos is dealing with an orbital floor fracture, which he suffered when Levanga Hokkaido ended the 21-game winning streak of the Utsunomiya Brex in Japan's B.League.
Dwight Ramos is out indefinitely for the Levanga Hokkaido after suffering an orbital floor fracture.
The team made the announcement Wednesday, as Ramos missed a second straight game for Hokkaido in Japan’s B.League.
Dwight suffered the injury in a game against the top-ranked Utsunomiya Brex last April 13, when Hokkaido ended the Brex’s 21-game winning streak, the second-longest in B.League history.
The fracture is another unfortunate setback for Dwight, who has been having a strong campaign for his third season in Japan despite Hokkaido’s relative lack of team success.
Ramos is averaging a career-high 10.7 points per game, to go along with 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals. He also has career-highs in minutes, three-point makes and percentage.
With Hokkaido not providing a timetable to Dwight’s return, he might end up missing the rest of the B.League season. The team has six games remaining to close out the 60-game regular season.
Last season, Dwight suffered through a nasty ankle injury, causing him to miss two months of action with Hokkaido.
