French Open champion and world no. 1 Iga Swiatek was enchanted after receiving a letter from her idol, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
Today was a fairytale for world no. 1 and the recently-crowned French Open champion, Iga Swiatek.
How could it not be when in her hands was a handwritten letter from her long-time favorite singer, Taylor Swift?
The multi-platinum artist gave Iga a heartfelt note as an expression of appreciation for Swiatek's touching gesture of traveling to England just days after her victory at Roland Garros.
The 23-year-old Grand Slam champion has always been a proud Swiftie.
In the official TikTok account of Eurosport, she was fearless to answer a Taylor Swift-related quiz and aced it like a queen.
Swiatek already made a hint earlier this year during the Madrid Open that she was hoping to see Swift perform live during “The Eras Tour.” But because of her hectic schedule, it was near impossible for her to catch a concert.
“Any progress on the Taylor Swift tickets?” asked a reporter from the Tennis Channel.
“"Ask Jules, he's [an] IMG agent, so he should get it. No, but it's hard with the schedule,” said Swiatek.
Likewise, she had her eyes on "The Eras Tour" concert in Liverpool, but she thought all tickets were already sold out. Upon knowing that there are still available tickets left, she immediately prepared for a wonderland concert adventure.
“I think there’s one show that’s going to be perfect, but... I think the tickets were already sold out, so... not yet? So, can I just buy them? Well then, what's the problem?” she added.
Sparks fly in Swiatek’s face as she basked in the concert glow while experiencing her favorite artist’s performance live.
With her deep-felt gesture, Taylor Swift, herself, wrote her a personal letter as a means of gratitude. Swiatek opted not to disclose the full content of the private message, even as she shared it on X.
“I'm dead. Yes, I cried many times during the show. Yes, it was incredible. You are amazing, @taylorswift13,” she captioned.
Inside the letter, the exposed opening part revealed Taylor congratulating Iga for winning the prestigious clay tournament.
“'Iga, congratulations on winning the French Open,” the acclaimed musician wrote.
The Polish tennis star is currently the youngest player to win four Roland Garros women’s titles in the Open Era.
