Strong Group-Pilipinas made it a perfect opening weekend in the 43rd William Jones Cup in Taiwan, scoring a 91-69 victory over the BSBL Guardians of Australia Sunday, July 14.
Building up on a 104-79 win over UAE Saturday, Strong Group got right into the thick of things with a 34-10 first quarter.
The early cushion was more than enough, as the Philippine team held serve and cruised to a second victory in as many days in the annual international tournament.
Chris McCullough once again led the way for Strong Group-Pilipina, dropping 23 points in just 22 minutes.
Ange Kouame added 16 points, while Tajuan Agee was good for 14 markers. Jesse Ghee paced the Australian side with 19 points.
Up next for Strong Group-Pilipinas is a showdown against Ukraine on Monday, July 15.
