Strong Group-Pilipinas is now two wins away from claiming the gold in the 43rd William Jones Cup.
Undermanned and all, Strong Group-Pilipinas rolled to a sixth straight victory at the expense of Japan U22 team, 92-79 in the 43 William Jones Cup on Friday, July 19.
Chris McCullough led the way once again for SGA with 26 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Derrick Fenner and Jordan Heading added 17 and 11 points, respectively.
SGA played without Rhenz Abando (hand injury), Tajuan Agee (illness), and Ange Kouame (knee injury) but managed to preserve a 6-0 win-loss record.
"The tournament has been tough so far. We are in our fifth game in six days with two more to go. But we have no excuses. This might be the time to rest our guys before we take on the home teams," said SGA coach Charles Tiu.
Now SGA is two wins away from claiming the gold in the tournament.
The team will face Chinese Taipei White on Saturday, July 20, before wrapping up its campaign on Sunday against Chinese Taipei Blue.
