Filipino cue artist Carlo Biado delivered a sizzling performance after defeating Mickey Krause, 5-3, in a closely-contested singles match to close out Day 2 of the 2024 Reyes Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Thursday, October 17.

Biado started strong, taking an early lead to go up 1-0. However, Krause quickly responded, leveling the score at 1-1 and showcasing his resilience. 

The match then saw both players exchanging points, with Krause actually striking first and taking a 2-1 lead, demonstrating his ability to pressure Biado and capitalize on any mistakes.

As the tension mounted, Biado found his rhythm again, tying the match at 2-2 before regaining the lead by winning the next rack. Krause was not to be outdone, as he tied the score once more at 3-3, illustrating the tight competition between the two skilled players. 

With the match hanging in the balance, Biado, whose highlight this year was the 10-ball world championship in March, showcased his experience and composure to again reclaim the lead at 4-3.

In the final moments of the match, Biado’s sharp focus and precise shot-making allowed him to close the game with a decisive 5-3 victory. 

This win was not just a personal triumph for Biado in the Reyes Cup; it also added crucial points for Team Asia as they continued to build their lead in the race to 11.

With the home crowd's support, Biado's victory contributed to Team Asia's growing momentum in the tournament, bringing them closer to the coveted Reyes Cup title. 

Ahead 7-2, Team Asia will look to close out Team Europe on Day 3, which will still be at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
