Singapore pool superstar Aloysius Yapp completed Team Asia’s commanding run in the 2024 Reyes Cup after defeating Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, 5-1, in their singles joust at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Team Asia thus took home the inaugural crown on an 11-6 tally as it withstood Team Europe’s gallant stand on the final day led by Jayson Shaw.

In his first match of the day, Yapp showed no signs of nervousness as he secured the first frame, cleaning each rack one by one.

Sanchez Ruiz showed some fight after tying the count at 1-1, but from there on, it was all Yapp as he downed each rack and frame, hearing the roaring crowd as he neared championship point.

In the sixth frame, the Singaporean superstar had another clean opening break as he went on to slot each ball with precision and, in turn, the final nine-ball of the tournament.
