Filipino ace guard Dwight Ramos emerged victorious in his showdown with Gilas kuya Kiefer Ravena as his Levanga Hokkaido won over the latter’s Yokohama B-Corsairs, 75-66, at the Hokkai Kita-yale in the 2024-25 B.LEAGUE season on Saturday, November 2.

Ramos, who played his first game back from injury since early October, sparked a pivotal run in the third quarter where he assisted or scored on seven points during a 9-0 run that tied the ball game at 40-all.

Though the 26-year-old would be subbed out midway through the third period, he finished with a respectable stat-line of nine points on 4-of-6 shooting, and two assists to chip in to the home team’s win despite playing less than 15 minutes.

Ryan Kriener’s 30-point performance was the highlight of the victory for Hokkaido, which helped the Levanga improve their record to 3-7 for the year.

Meanwhile, Yokohama, who are now on an even 5-5 slate, fell flat in the second half as Ravena struggled, finishing with four points on a 2-of-8 shooting clip along with two assists in 25 minutes of action.

Damien Inglis shone for the visitors in the losing effort with 22 markers and eight boards.

Elsewhere, Bobby Ray Parks Jr.’s 16 points were not enough as the Osaka Evessa fell against the Ryukyu Golden Kings at the Ookini Arena Maishima, 96-79.

Vic Law and Jack Cooley combined for 47 points to lead the Golden Kings to the win and are now 7-3 for the year.

Osaka stumbled to 6-4 with the loss.

In the other game, Kai Sotto was held to just a point in a sorry outing for the Koshigaya Alphas against the Sun Rockers Shibuya in a loss, 84-71, at the Koshigaya City Gymnasium.

Sotto went 0-3 in shooting in 22 minutes of play while also tallying six rebounds, and two assists, his worst game to an otherwise career season so far.

Josh Hawkinson had his way against Sotto and the Alphas as he came up big for Shibuya with 36 points on 12-of-17 shooting, 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks.

Koshigaya continues to free fall, now having a 1-9 record, while SR Shibuya rise above .500 at 6-4.
