A tough start to the weekend for Pinoy hoopers in Division 1 of the B.LEAGUE, with Kiefer Ravena being the only player posting a win.
Pinoy imports Kiefer Ravena and AJ Edu went head-to-head in a tightly-contested B.LEAGUE matchup as the Yokohama B-Corsairs edged the Nagasaki Velca, 79-75, on Saturday, January 4.
Ravena delivered a solid performance, scoring 12 points, dishing out five assists, and grabbing two rebounds to push Yokohama to victory.
Edu, on the other hand, showcased his all-around game for Nagasaki and finished with nine points, seven rebounds, and four assists in the narrow loss.
With the win, Yokohama improved to 10-17 for 17th in the standings, while Nagasaki remains at 14th with a 13-14 record.
Meanwhile, Kai Sotto had a productive outing for the Koshigaya Alphas, tallying 10 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
However, his efforts weren’t enough to lift his team as the Alphas suffered a lopsided 54-89 defeat to the SeaHorses Mikawa.
Koshigaya dropped to an 8-19 record for 20th in the standings.

In other B.LEAGUE action, Ray Parks Jr. put up a solid performance with 13 points, seven rebounds, and three assists for Osaka Evessa, but his team fell to the Kyoto Hannaryz, 75-78, in a close encounter.
Matthew Wright contributed 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists for the Kawasaki Brave Thunders, but Kawasaki struggled offensively in a 61-82 loss to the Sendai 89ers.
Dwight Ramos endured a quiet game for Levanga Hokkaido, scoring just one point in 12 minutes as his team lost to the powerhouse Chiba Jets, 67-75.
