Gilas Pilipinas stalwart Carl Tamayo set a new career-high with 37 points, the most by a Filipino import so far in the Korean Basketball League (KBL).
Carl Tamayo continues to make waves in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) as he set a new career-high, dropping an impressive 37 points in the Changwon LG Sakers’ narrow 88-92 loss to the Seoul Samsung Thunders.
Tamayo was nearly unstoppable, shooting an incredible 15-for-15 on two-point attempts and finishing 17-of-19 overall from the field.
Despite the valiant effort, Tamayo's team fell short against the squad led by fellow Filipino import Justin Gutang, who contributed 15 points for Seoul in the thrilling match.
Tamayo’s remarkable scoring outburst marked a personal milestone. It surpassed the previous career-high by a Filipino import in the KBL, previously held by SJ Belangel, who also tallied 36 points just last week against the Thunders.
