Kyt Jimenez takes his act to the Zamboanga-based team as collegiate stars also fill the Valientes for the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship.
Another team will banner the Philippine flag at the Dubai International Basketball Championship slated later this month as the Zamboanga Valientes will also see action in the 34th staging of the tournament.
Former UAAP MVP Malick Diouf will banner the team along with UST point guard Forthsky Padrigao, with the former rivals who faced off in the UAAP Season 85 Finals now joining forces. They were 1-2, respectively, in the MVP race that season.
After a short and sweet stint with the San Miguel Beermen, Kyt Jimenez also finds himself with the Valientes, along with four-time PBA champion Prince Caperal.
But it will be 7’5” Maltese import Samuel Deguara that will be expected to dominate for the Valientes as he flexes his height and experience. He previously played for the Macau Black Bears and the Taiwan Mustangs, among others, in the Asian basketball scene.
Deguara, who is the tallest man in Italy and Malta, also won gold with Malta in the 2018 edition of the FIBA European Championship for small countries.
Also in the initial roster are FEU’s Mike Tolomia, Rugy Lingganay, and Denver Cadiz.
The Valientes are backed Cocogen Insurance for the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship, which is set to unfurl from January 24 to February 2.
