Two-time UAAP MVP Kevin Quiambao will have to wait for a month before returning to action for the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the KBL.
Bad news welcomed two-time UAAP MVP Kevin Quiambao just a day after making his professional debut in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), as he was assessed to miss up to four weeks due to an injury he suffered over the weekend.
Quiambao, who had six points and one rebound in seven minutes of play for the Goyang Sono Skygunners against the Seoul SK Knights, exited his debut KBL game with an ankle injury after landing on the foot of Seoul's Oh Se-keun.
The UAAP champion had just attempted a three when he landed on his opponent’s foot, which resulted in the twisting of his ankle.
He left the game with 7:44 left in the second quarter and did not return.

According to Korean news outlet Naver, Quiambao was diagnosed with a ruptured ankle ligament following an MRI.
Per the team’s officials, a return for Quiambao is slate to be in early February. Their best case scenario would be for the former Green Archer to play against the Seoul Samsung Thunders on February 7.
As it stands, Goyang is currently 9th in the league with a 9-20 win-loss slate.
The Skygunners are also in the midst of a four-game losing streak. If Quiambao does return by February 7, he would have missed six games for Sono.
The Skygunners return to action on Wednesday, January 15, against the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus.
