Former NBA player Chase Budinger is an Olympic winner… in beach volleyball.

Teaming up with Miles Evans, Budinger won his Olympic debut in Paris 2024, a 21-14, 21-11 decision over the French tandem of Youssef Krou and Arnaud Gauthier-Rat.

It was a balanced effort between Miles and Budinger, who scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, in the victory.

Budinger had a more all-around game though, with his 13 points coming from six attacks, four blocks, and three aces.

A former second-round pick, Budinger played in the NBA from 2009 to 2016, with his best stints coming with the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

He played 407 games in the NBA, averaging 7.9 points and 3.0 rebounds.

Budinger retired from basketball in 2017 and shifted his focus to beach volleyball. His tandem with Evans is currently ranked 13th in the world by the FIVB.
