If anyone embodies the spirit of miracles, it’s Sam Catantan.

Just 22 years old, she faced her greatest challenge when a severe ACL injury threatened her dreams prior to the gold medal match at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.

Yet, undeterred by her struggles, Sam fought her way back and became the first Filipino fencer to qualify for the Olympics in 32 years.

A true testament to resilience, she's now on the road to recovery again as she deals with ACL injury anew.

In a moment of respite, Sam is enjoying her other interests outside of fencing. And as a devoted Rivermaya fan, she couldn’t miss the chance to see her favorite band live.

In a thrilling performance at Madison Square Garden, Mark Escueta, Rico Blanco, Bamboo Mañalac, and Nathan Azarcon captivated the audience in their reunion concert.

Sam shared her excitement on Instagram about attending the band's reunion, but when “Himala” began to play, tears filled her eyes.
