It turns out the Elasto Painters big man played in not just one, but multiple unsanctioned games.
Beau Belga has received an additional punishment from his mother team, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, after being involved in multiple unsanctioned exhibition games.
Through the team’s social media page, Rain or Shine announced that Belga has been slapped with an additional fine of 15 days worth of salary. This comes on top of the six days suspension previously given by the Elasto Painters.
The Elasto Painters said that the former Gilas big man played unsanctioned games in three locations: Cebu, Davao, and Laguna.
Belga’s salary is unknown, but based on the league’s maximum salary of P420,000 a month for veterans, the Rain or Shine center could fork up over P200,000 in the punishment.
The veteran big man was recently caught on video playing in Cebu. The video went viral as he and JR Quiñahan of the NLEX Road Warriors got involved in a fight. In the scuffle, Belga was seen throwing a ball at who seems to be a foreign player.
The PBA said it will conduct its own investigation into the matter and will eventually summon the players involved.
