Ricci is taking the next step.
After stops in the Taiwanese pros and Manila 3x3 hoops, Ricci Rivero is taking the next step in his basketball career and declaring for the PBA Season 48 Draft, which is happening on September.
His agent, Charlie Dy, divulged the development to News5.
Rivero most recently played for the Blackwater Red President, the 3x3 team of PBA franchise Blackwater Bossing, where he suited up with his brother Prince.
Prior to that, the former UP Fighting Maroon played for the Taoyuan Pilots in Taiwanese pro league P. League +. He was released in November 2022 due to injury.
The 6-foot-1 combo guard was a coveted talent out of college. He won two titles in the UAAP, one as a rookie with the La Salle Green Archers, and another one in his last playing year as part of UP. He once made the UAAP Mythical Team, too.
The 25-year-old was lately embroiled in showbiz controversies, but now, he seems set to focus once again on his hoops career—and in the Philippines’ premier league no less.
