Hard work beats talent. But what happens when talent meets hard work?

Well, Paul Lee happens.

Since arriving in the PBA in 2011 as a second overall pick, the former UE Red Warriors standout has been living up to the hype. Playing for his first team in the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, Lee won two championships. After he got traded to the Magnolia Hotshots in 2016 for another King Red Warrior, the Lethal Weapon has won another chip and a Finals MVP trophy to boot. His other accolades include the Rookie of the Year award, nine All-Star selections, a Best Player of the Conference plum, four Mythical Team citations, and many more.

Oh, and he’s had his moments with Gilas Pilipinas as well. Remember the three ultra-clutch free throws he drained against China?

At the moment, he’s helped the Hotshots stay on top of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup with a pristine 4-0 record. Yep, at 34 years old, Lee is still a key contributor, executing his trademark moves in style, as always.

On Wednesday, the 12-year PBA veteran took to Instagram to share one of his secrets to staying at the top of his game after all these years.

“Don’t skip your breakfast,” the caption of Lee’s Instagram Story said.

Apparently, Lee eats combat training pads for his first meal of the day.

Clearly, working on getting his shots off through contact, Lee has had no problem getting buckets. He's regularly shared videos of his skills training, some of them even as early as 5:30 a.m. They're extra work, BTW, apart from the Hotshots' regular practices.

The Angas ng Tondo currently has maangas averages of 13.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

Expect him to once again show out for the Hotshots as they try to stay unscathed against feisty import Thomas Robinson and the NLEX Road Warriors on December 1.
