It's not like he had a choice, right?
Scottie Thompson has made a name for himself as a do-it-all guard—a stat-sheet stuffer extraordinaire. Among his best skills, too, is handing out assists, as evidenced by the six dimes per game he dished out last season in the PBA.
And, apparently, Thompson is as good at handing out assists off the court as he is inside it.
Case in point: He recently gave an assist to his pregnant wife Jinky by buying her bulalo. But it wasn’t just an ordinary bulalo, mind you. It was bulalo all the way from Tagaytay.
Thompson was game enough to share the experience in a video on Facebook.
“Kakain na lang kami sa bahay, biglang nag-crave ang buntis ng bulalo. So, nagpa-try ako magpaluto ng bulalo, pero ayaw niya. Kasi ang gusto niya, bulalo sa Tagaytay,” Thompson narrated as he was driving with Jinky on their way to Tagaytay.
Of course, the Hustle Man, the doting husband that he is, naturally hustled to fulfill his wife’s sudden craving.
“Guess what? Pupunta kami ngayon ng Tagaytay para kumain ng bulalo,” the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel guard said. “Let’s go, ang saya nito!”
Thompson's enthusiasm is commendable, all right, considering it was an unplanned night trip outside the city.
Though, from the looks of it, it was all worth it as the Thompsons feasted on bulalo, chicharon bulaklak, and baby squid, among other delicacies. Now, for the sake of the former MVP, we could only hope that Jinky doesn’t crave bagnet from Ilocos or sinuglaw from Davao.
