EJ Anosike anchors San Miguel's strong second half showing as the Beermen now totes a 2-0 edge against Converge in their PBA Governors' Cup playoff series.
It's a different day but the same winning finish for EJ Anosike and the rest of San Miguel.
Anosike erupted for 41 points and the Beermen held their ground amid a Converge resurgence, 107-100, to take a 2-0 lead in their PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup quarterfinal duel on Sept. 29, Saturday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
The 6-foot-5 reinforcement waxed hot in the third frame, pouring 15 points there to give the Beermen the upperhand, 78-72, after actually trailing behind the FiberXers by as much as nine points in the second quarter.

Terrence Romeo, Don Trollano, Kris Rosales and Marcio Lassiter then took over from the three-point range in the payoff period.
Romeo, Trollano and Rosales' exploits from the three-point arc powered San Miguel's 13-2 retaliation to help the squad build its biggest separation at 12 points, 95-83.
While Converge countered on a 10-run behind Jalen Jones and Bryan Santos, the Beermen found the hands of new three-point king Lassiter, who swished a trey to stop the bleeding and bring the momentum back to his squad.
San Miguel goes for the finisher on Monday, Sept. 30, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
