TNT leaned on its hot shooting to dominate Blackwater for a 109-93 victory in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate on Thursday, Dec. 19.

The Tropang Giga distanced themselves from the Bossing just before the end of the first quarter after a triple from Calvin Oftana and a four-pointer from Jayson Castro to beat the buzzer.

But just as TNT looked poised to break the game wide open after leading by 13 points at 82-69 to start the fourth quarter, RK Ilagan scored 10 straight points for the Bossing to cut the lead to single digits.

Ilagan, however, went down with a knee injury after Tropang Giga import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson fell on him during a loose ball with 7:37 left in the game.

Without Ilagan, TNT pulled away for good to secure its second straight win in the conference for a 2-2 record to end their assignments this year.

Meanwhile, the Bossing dropped to a 1-6 card.

Jayson Castro led the way for the Tropang Giga with 16 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field which went along with two assists and three steals.
