His return will be a huge upgrade for the Bossing, who picked up their first win in two games.
Troy Rosario is inching closer to a return to the Blackwater Bossing lineup.
Blackwater head coach Ariel Vanguardia bared Rosario will start joining the team's scrimmage next week.
“Next week mag 5-on-5 na siya,” said Vanguardia in the aftermath of Bossing’s 108-105 win over Phoenix on Friday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Rosario is still recovering from a plantar fasciitis injury he sustained in November last year. If things go their way, Vanguardia said the 6-foot-6 forward might play in the team’s next game against the San Miguel Beermen at the PhilSports Arena.
If not on Wednesday, he added, then in Saturday’s game against the Meralco Bolts.
“We’ll see in the next 4 days how he blends well or kung makuha niya timing niya,” he said.
Asked how he’s going to infuse Rosario in a front court rotation that includes import Shawn Glover, Ato Ular, Yousef Taha, and Tyrus Hill, Vanguardia gave a blunt answer: “That’s a pleasant problem.”
“Mas mabuti na yung maraming nagagamit kesa walang magamt,” he said. “With Troy talaga, Swiss knife 'yan e. He can play 3, he can play 4, 5. Alam natin what veteran leadership and poise he can give the team.”
The Blackwater tactician is just pleased to have someone of Rosario’s caliber at his disposal soon.
“It's a huge upgrade, huge addition, kahit mga 80 percent na Troy Rosario. Pagka by Tuesday may memo na nawala na siya sa injury list, 'yun ang trigger na maglalaro na siya sa Wednesday,” he said.
