Robert Bolick can’t help but laugh this one out.
If there's one Filipino player suited to play with fictional character Hanamichi Sakuragi—aside from Pinoy Sakuragi, Marc Pingris himself—that would be Robert Bolick.
The NorthPort Batang Pier superstar is passionate, carries an uncontested swagger inside the court, but also has an anime-like humor outside of it. For example, this wall art from his milk tea shop Kurimi features the starting five of Shohoku with Bolick himself in the middle—at least the mustache gave it away.
Bolick's former San Beda teammate Javee Mocon seemed to have fun with the wall art and Bolick's iconic mustache when he visited the branch.
"Gwapo mo dito buddy, @babesbolick," Mocon said in an Instagram story. To which Bolick responded with, "Nice buddy!!"
In all seriousness, fans have been missing Bolick and his mustache because the explosive guard has yet to suit up in the PBA Governors' Cup due to contract negotiations. Without Bolick's services, the Batang Pier remains winless after four games.
