The actor watched the game between Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings and Magnolia Hotshots.
In a rivalry game that featured some of the biggest names in the PBA on Sunday, Coco Martin emerged as the biggest star.
A self-confessed Ato Agustin and Nelson Asaytono fan, Martin dropped by the Mall of Asia Arena to watch his first PBA match in many years— well, maybe decades.
And the actor was delighted to do so during a Manila Clasico.
“Napakaswerte nga namin e, kasi mapapanood namin Ginebra tsaka Magnolia. Sobrang napakalaking opportunity ‘to para samin,” said Martin, who was introduced at center court.
Like with many Filipinos, basketball is a big part of his formative years. He admitted skipping classes back in the day just so he can play pick up games.
Until he got busy with work.
“'Yan ang gawain ko pag nag-cutting class ako nung high school. Talagang adik na adik ako sa basketball, hanggang college,” he said.
“Pero nung nagtrabaho na medyo nakalimutan na, napabayaan na dahil nag-focus na sa work talaga.”
Although he wasn't watching his idols growing up, Martin enjoyed the game with seasoned actors Lito Lapid and Pen Medina.
