The Chery Tiggo Crossovers are now a must-watch team in the PVL.
Now that Eya Laure and Princess Robles are in the professional league, they can now take a sigh of relief. They wouldn't have to play against each other anymore.
The two outside spikers from the UST Golden Tigresses and the NU Lady Bulldogs have been competing against each other since high school. Now, they're part of a star-studded batch of rookies for the Chery Tiggo Crossovers along with middle blocker Imee Hernandez, setter Joyme Cagande, and libero Jen Nierva, for the PVL Invitational Conference.
"Masarap sa feeling, 'di ko na siya kailangan kalabanin. Kasama ko na siya on the same side of the court," Laure told One Sports' The Game on Thursday night.
"'Di ko na kailangan mag-isip kung paano siya babantayan," Robles added.
It was Laure and the Golden Tigresses who notably ended the Bulldogs' winning streak since UAAP Season 84 in a five-set drama. NU though was able to reach the Finals before falling to the De La Salle Lady Spikers.
Now that they're in the pros, it's been a fairly easy adjustment for the rookies to play with each other. They've been watching each other for years after all.
Laure shared how she's been speaking to Cagande regarding her sets and how she's been adjusting with her receptions.
"Pasensya na sa receive ko, wait lang," Laure recalled, laughing. "Comfortable agad kahit ang tagal naming magkalaban."
Robles, in particular, expressed she's excited to do one thing with Laure and Hernandez.
"Buong high school and college, nasa kabilang side sila ng court. Swag, swag lang," she recalled. "Ngayon sabay na kami mag-swag!"
