It's not just for kids, apparently.
The lato-lato craze has hit the camp of the Creamline Cool Smashers.
As they embark on their preps to defend their PVL Invitational crown, the Cool Smashers have taken some time off during their training to play some lato-lato.
If you’ve been seeing people, mostly kids, playing with a toy that has two balls connected by a string, that’s lato-lato. The goal of the game is to make the two balls hit each other as fast as you can, get into a rhythm, and flex to the world your greatness.
That includes the inevitable loud sound of the clacking balls—which has been driving people nuts. Case in point: Ced Domingo.
“And here I thought training is my safe haven,” Domingo jokingly wrote in her Instagram story.
Sato would later repost this, saying sorry to Ced. Of course it's paired with the laughing emoji.
Unlike Domingo, Michele Gumabao is eager to learn the technique with game face on. A few seconds later, though, she ultimately gave up and just joked around.
Risa Sato posted more clips of the rest of her Cool Smasher teammates trying out the toy, and each one had their own strategy.
Whether it’s standing up or sitting down, or even while getting taped up, pretty much every Creamline player was trying to get themselves familiar with the lato-lato.
Here are a couple that most of us can likely relate.
One is Jia de Guzman, who just gave up and went on to hit the two balls using her hands.
Meanwhile, Alyssa Valdez, as good as an athlete she is, had felt the pain of continuously playing the toy. She had to shake it off.
It's unsure, however, if the rest of the country can easily shake off the clacking sound of lato-lato playing in their heads.
