The Philippines finished seventh out of 11 participating nations in the recently concluded AVC Challenge Cup. The result was by no means ideal but Filipino volleyball fans understood that their bets still came up with a meaningful campaign in Indonesia. After all, the country did climb up in the latest FIVB World Rankings.

At the moment, the Philippines is 57th in the world and 9th in Asia.

Another bright spot that emerged from the team’s tour of duty in the AVC tournament is the reunion of Faith Nisperos and Roma Mae Doromal. The two talented volleybelles go way back as they’ve been teammates since their high school days with Nazareth School-National University.

For some fans, the Ateneo Blue Eagles duo have become the apple of their eyes.

On Sunday night, Doromal shared the heartwarming posts made by these supporters, one of which is Instagram user @kathbriones_ who coined the moniker “FaithyMae” for Nisperos and Doromal.

If it still isn't obvious, this fan with a username @roamamaey absolutely loves the duo. The netizen threw it all the way back by uploading a photo of Nisperos and Doromal's during their junior years. The fierce volleybelles look innocent in the picture.

"Congrats girls, ang galing n'yo," said TikTok user @dessa06_ in another post dedicated to the two.

Nisperos and Doromal have been close friends for a while now, as proven by this Instagram post earlier this year where the talented libero displayed her admiration for Nisperos by simply writing “I HAVE FAITH” over a photo of them hugging it out on the court.

And the blessing of their friendship does not just benefit the two of them, as it overflows to the fans, too.

Right now, Doromal is set to return to Ateneo for UAAP Season 86. Nisperos, on the other hand, has turned pro and will play for the Akari Chargers in the upcoming PVL Invitational Conference.

It’s not hard to imagine that the former college teammates will share the court once again in the future.
