The PLDT High Speed Hitters won’t play their first game of the PVL Invitational Conference until Saturday, but setter Rhea Dimaculangan looks like she is in mid-conference form.
In a practice session of the squad that made it to Instagram on Monday, Dimaculangan looked primed to deliver another excellent set after a solid pass from a teammate.
As the pass went up, Rhea's eyes were glued to the ball. Her hands ready to setup a spiker for the score.
Only that in the next split-second, Dmac took it upon herself to nail the attack. It even looked like her teammate, Dell Palomata, was also surprised by the change-up.
To make things even more impressive, the former UST Golden Tigress tipped the ball towards her rear side to avoid the defense’s blocking arms.
Ball goes straight to no defender’s land. Clean score.
“Sassy move from Dmac,” PLDT’s social media manager wrote on the said Instagram post. It’s accurate.
The move was so slick that the excitement of netizen @yeojespiritu_ could be felt through her comment.
“Let’s f*****g go ate,” the fan wrote alongside fire and heart emojis.
Another PLDT supporter in @mariaalmiraaa also resorted to emojis, commenting with praise and heart characters.
Can’t blame them for their eagerness as the PVL Invitational is opening tomorrow with three surefire matches, including the heavyweight bout of defending champs Creamline Cool Smashers and the retooled Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
The High Speed Hitters, meanwhile, will open their campaign this conference on Saturday, 1:30 p.m. against the Akari Chargers.
Watch the games on One Sports. You can also livestream them through the Pilipinas Live app.
