Faith gives back, inspires young volleyball players.
Faith Nisperos of the Akari Chargers just finished her first conference as a professional, and while her team could not quite elevate itself to the PVL’s upper echelon, it is safe to say that the former Ateneo Blue Eagle has attained a level of success one could only hope for.
She is, after all, playing in the country’s premier league for volleybelles, and has proven capable of playing the game at the highest level.
But despite tasting success, it appears it hasn’t gotten to the 23-year-old Akari stalwart, who on Tuesday took time off her presumably busy schedule to attend a one-day volleyball league organized by Elevate Volleyball PH. There, Nisperos gave the campers some words of wisdom, gamely posed for photos, signed autographs, and even helped out in the actual games.
And, on Wednesday, Nisperos posted an Instagram Story of her taking a groupie with the participants of the one-day event, with the caption, “I’d love to see more kids get to where I am today.”
Aiming to reach where Nisperos is at right now—successful and playing a game she loves so much—would be a great goal for any youngster willing to dream big.
Nisperos also posted a short video of her having fun in Elevate Volleyball PH’s one-day league, and her caption this time is a reminder on how to play volleyball the right way, an expression of gratitude to the organizers and participants, and a promise to come back all rolled into one.
“Everything counts. Every point. Every game. But most importantly, play as a team, work together, and have fun,” Nisperos wrote. “Visited @elevatevolleyballph one-day league and it was great to see the campers again. 'Til next time."
Coming from Nisperos, that is a vow that will probably be fulfilled over and over and over.
