She has unfinished business, it seems.
There is little doubt that Rhea Dimaculangan of the PLDT High Speed Hitters is on a well-deserved high after getting engaged just a few weeks ago.
And after going through what can only be described as a potentially life-changing experience, it is fair to wonder about the setter’s future plans, both for the short and long term. In fact, it would not be a surprise if some fans think Dimaculangan might soon be hanging it up. After all, she did say yes to a for-life commitment.
But it is time to put to rest any speculations about Dimaculangan’s career, because the talented setter herself finally made her plans be known.
“Engaged palang naman, hindi pa ikakasal,” Dimaculangan told the High Speed Hitters’ official social media pages. “‘Di pa ako magre-retire. May hinihintay pa ako. Pero Salamat sa mga bumati. Floating pa rin ang feeling.”
There. That settles it. Dimaculangan will continue playing volleyball at the highest level. And she plans on getting back to work sooner rather than later—surely a calming thought for PLDT’s countless fans.
“Kailangan na bumalik sa lupa at magtrabaho,” Dumaculangan added. “Kasi may goal kami ng teammates ko.”
That goal is very likely to win a championship—a feat that seems so near yet so far for the High Speed Hitters, who have mustered only fourth- and fifth-place finishes in the All-Filipino Conference and the Invitational Conference, respectively.
But with Dimaculangan fully committed to the cause, climbing up the ranks figures to be doable for the deep and talented High Speed Hitters.
