NBA legend Carmelo Anthony has met a lot of people throughout his well-lived, stutter-stepping, three-fingers-to-head-celebrating life. And that includes a laundry list of superstars.
Add to that Alyssa Valdez.
Melo probably has no clue who Valdez is, but they sure got to know each other a bit in last night's semifinals skirmish between USA and Germany in the FIBA World Cup. Valdez is so lucky to have met Anthony. Or is it the other way around?
On her Instagram Story, the Creamline Cool Smashers skipper reposted a video of him and Anthony chatting from the VIP row at the Mall of Asia Arena. They looked pretty happy too. Ate Ly niyo, napalaban sa English.
Now, it begs the all-important question: What did Melo and Baldo talk about?

Valdez has been a constant sight in the FIBA World Cup, watching several games already from courtside. Even with Gilas Pilipinas eliminated early, the PVL megastar has continued to support and enjoy the tournament.
Anthony, meanwhile, made his return to Manila as an ambassador of the FIBA World Cup, along with fellow NBA legends Pau Gasol and Luis Scola and WNBA hero Sue Bird. Unfortunately for Melo, he had to witness up close USA's bitter loss to Germany. He probably felt a little itch to put on the red, white, and blue jersey again and help coach Steve Kerr, who got roasted on social media after the tough exit.
Well, at least he gained a new friend. A famous one at that.
