This coming conference is about to be lit.
There might just be a new title favorite in the PVL.
The PLDT High Hitters recently snapped up the services of Savannah Davison, a Filipino-Canadian, just in time for the upcoming PVL All-Filipino conference.
Standing at 5-foot-9, Davison has experience playing for both the University of Oklahoma and New Mexico State University in the US NCAA.
As an outside hitter, Davison is anticipated to step into the role vacated by Jovy Prado, who suffered an ACL injury during the Invitational conference.
Given her NCAA experience, PVL fans expressed their excitement on social media about the chance to see Davison play in the league.
“Yung mga nakalaban nya sa collegiate eh iilan na sa USA national team members ngayon. Lagot na ang lahat ng teams,” wrote @DefenderDlsu on X, formerly Twitter.
With an already impressive squad, the addition of Davison to the PLDT could mean a first-time finals appearance for the team, according to some fans.
“Finals season for PLDT! Long overdue,” wrote @mirajaneeeeee.
Several fans were also happy in seeing that more Fil-Americans coming over to play in the PVL.
“Love how more Filipinos from other countries are being recruited to play here in the country over the past few years,” wrote @ghouste_.
Indeed these are exciting times for the PVL as it opens its third conference on October 15.
