Team officials earlier said they are working to resolve the issue.
The management of PVL team Gerflor Defenders promised to at least give players their partial salaries as part of efforts to resolve the issue of non-payment, coach Sammy Acaylar told reporters on Tuesday.
The issue spread on social media last Thursday, following several anonymous posts claiming players have not been paid their salaries, along with other internal issues.
Acaylar said Gerflor officials came to their practice last Saturday to address the players' concerns.
"They promised us that they will give partial for the salary of the players," he said. "Nakiusap sila sa'min na depende dun sa sulat galing sa PVL, bigyan ng partial (payment)."
"Then after this week, ibibigay 'yung full salary ng mga bata. So sabi ko sa mga bata, bigyan sila (management) ng another chance. Bahala na silang gumawa ng paraan (para) makasahod ('yung) players namin."
The PVL on Thursday said it has started investigating the issue.
"Rest assured, we are committed to conducting a thorough and fair inquiry into the matter, ensuring that both the team's representatives and the players involved will have an opportunity to be heard," the PVL said in a statement. "We take these matters seriously and will take all necessary steps to ensure the integrity and fairness of our league."
Gerflor then released its statement, saying it "acknowledges the problem" and is "working on an immediate solution to resolve it."
While Acaylar said he fully supports his players, he said he doesn't want the team's issues to publicized anymore.
"I told my players that I don't like any problem na lumabas sa social media. Kino-control ko sila. 'Yung players ko naman very humble 'yan, kaya lang nasaktan na rin sila," said Acaylar.
He also pointed out that he understands the concerns of the players, adding he spends P2,000 for gas just to get to and from their practice venue in Quezon City.
"How much more 'yung (gastos) ng players namin?"

But if there's something positive to come out of the issue, Acaylar said other PVL teams have helped Gerflor even in little ways.
"Pasalamat nga ako sa ibang commercial teams, binibigyan kami ng tubig, ng Gatorade," he said. "Concerned sila sa amin. Kasi siyempre, player din sila, naiintindihan nila kami."
Gerflor is at the bottom of the standings of the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference with a 0-7 record, absorbing its latest loss on Tuesday against the Farm Fresh Foxies. The Defenders will next take on the Akari Chargers on Saturday in Cagayan de Oro.
