PVL players will always be queens of the court.
But on Sunday, it was a different queen who grabbed the spotlight.
Michelle Dee, the Philippines' bet in the Miss Universe, may have fallen short of her bid to take home a crown, but she sure impressed many with her beauty, grace, and attitude.
The 28-year-old Dee didn't advance to the top five after entering the top 10 of the 72nd edition of the annual contest, which was held in El Salvador. She, however, took home several awards, including the Spirit of Carnival and Voices for Change.
The PLDT High Speed Hitters' official account on Instagram posted the perfect meme to express appreciation for Dee, whose uncle is former PBA player-turned-actor Joey Marquez. It pointed out (literally?) that she's still a winner in the hearts of Filipinos.
"What a performance!" said the post.
Creamline Cool Smashers veteran Fille Cainglet-Cayetano, meanwhile, reposted on her Instagram Story a glam photo of Dee in a black gown, looking fab and fierce.
"Stunning," remarked Cainglet-Cayetano.
The PVL is no stranger to beauty queens, with Cainglet-Cayetano's teammate Michele Gumabao and F2 Logistics Cargo Movers middle blocker Mary Joy Dacoron, who once dished out a classy response to her bashers, being notable examples.
That's why it's only fitting for PLDT and Cainglet-Cayetano to react to Dee's performance in the Miss Universe.

Nicaragua's Sheynnis Palacios won the title, giving her country its first-ever crown, while Thailand's Anntonia Porsild and Australia's Moraya Wilson were first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.
Here's a question: Who among the current PVL stars could also be a beauty queen? Mika? Majoy Baron? Kat Tolentino? Jessey de Leon? Ivy Lacsina?
