Thank you for the memories!
The F2 Logistics on Wednesday night confirmed that it was disbanding its professional volleyball team, the Cargo Movers, to focus more on the company's grassroots program.
It was a development that fans feared the most, as rumors of the Cargo Movers possibly going on a leave of absence circulated on social media after their eighth place finish in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.
After the sad development, longtime team captain Aby Maraño couldn't help but share not just one or two, but NINE separate posts about the Cargo Movers.
"Mas masakit pa ito sa heartbreak. Para bang may masterpiece (sic) akong nawasak ng bagyo. Ganoon ko kamahal ang pamilyang ito. Walang sawang pasasalamat sa @f2cargomovers for giving me the BEST 8 long years 💛," she shared on Instagram on Wednesday.
Tyang Aby won five Best Middle Blocker awards in the Philippine Super Liga as part of F2 Logistics, along with five PSL titles and one PNVF Champions League trophy.
"Sabi ko nung una, dito na matatapos ang karera ko—kasama sila. Ngunit tadhana na ang nagpasya sa tadhana natin. Ang sa akin lang, kung saan ‘man tayo mapunta, sana ay maging masaya rin tayo gaya ng kung paano tayo naging masaya sa piling ng bawat isa. 💛🤍," she added in a separate post.
Maraño has always been known for her sliding attack, her swag, and her fierceness, which helped the Cargo Movers become a consistent contender.
"Long live the smiles on our faces, the victories we shared together, the hardships we surpassed together, the best memories we made, the losses and CHAMPIONSHIPS that we worked so hard to get. It is all irreplaceable in my heart," she wrote in a final post with her photo in black and white.
"I am honored to have served you @f2cargomovers with so much love and loyalty in this 8 years I played for you. I surrendered myself to this team that I considered my own family. And at the end of the road I can only say, YOU ARE WORTH IT!"
"Loving you forever, your captain Aby Maraño signing off."
Majoy Baron, a seven-time Best Middle Blocker in the PSL and the 2023 PVL Invitational Conference Best Middle Blocker, kept it short and sweet. The announcement happened just a few days after her birthday.
"Hanggang sa muli," the text read in the Instagram Story Baron reshared from teammate Jolina dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz, who exploded for a career-high 30 points in her rookie season with F2 Logistics before going down with an injury in their last game this conference, shared a collage of photos with the squad.
"Gonna miss my goto peeps. Mahal ko kayo!" she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Her fellow rookie Mars Alba also penned a message in her short time with the Cargo Movers.
"I'm gonna miss the memories we built together 💛," she wrote.
Myla Pablo, who only joined the squad this season, also had a brief stint with F2 Logistics. But for her, the memories will always live on.
Dawn Macandili-Catindig, a six-time Best Libero in the PSL, along with honors in the 2021 PNVF Champions League and the 2022 PVL Open Conference, expressed her gratefulness to the company.
"I'm also sharing my appreciation to all the players who have become a part of the F2 CARGO MOVERS 💛🖤 I love you all!!! We have shared our ups and downs, MANALO o MATALO, at the end of the day, alam kong may pamilyang aakap sa akin at magiging okay na ako 🥹," she wrote in an Instagram post.
"I'm so happy to have shared most of my career milestones with this team. It's been 7 years, and I would have never imagined myself playing outside of my comfort zone. We learn some of the most valuable lessons in life during times of discomfort, and only in this discomfort are we able to find growth ?? so cheers to our GROWTH! 🥂"
Coach Regine Diego, who led the squad to a bronze place finish in the PVL First All-Filipino Conference this year, kept it simple, sharing an Instagram Story of their final huddle.
Then she shared a quote, tagging F2 Logistics.
"You've helped me through some tough times without knowing it. You're such a bright light in this world. I hope you know that, I appreciate you more than you'll ever know. No matter how this ends, I am eternally grateful because once upon a time, I had you," the text read.
Padayon, Cargo Movers!
