The Bibe-fication goes to the PVL!
In spite of the arduous training and intense games that our volleybelles are going through almost every single day, some teams still found a way to light things up and have fun.
The Petro Gazz Angels, fresh off a win in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference season opener, wore their bibe clips during weight training. Coach Koji Tsuzurabara was immediately offered one upon his arrival.
And coach Koji knows very well how to lighten up and make a joke... or is it?
Even the Akari Chargers got in on the action.
Where did this fad come from?
Locally, the bibe hair clip has been traced to Baguio City, reportedly during a convention in the middle of 2023. Another report said the cute clips were a fad in China back in 2015, as shown in online shopping platform Taobao.
There is absolutely no scientific reason for this fad, but it does help increase an athlete's dopamine levels. It's cute, it makes you happy, it makes you part of a tribe. And hey, it's cute!
So the question is, “May bibe na ba ang lahat?"
