Tots Carlos erupted for a career-high 31 points as the Creamline Cool Smashers subdued the Akari Chargers in four sets, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Thursday night.

The Cool Smashers banked on the three-time PVL MVP's firepower to turn back the Chargers, while giving Bea de Leon and Denden Lazaro-Revilla a triumphant team debut.

Carlos reset her pro career high of 28 points, registered against the Petro Gazz Angels in 2022. She also reset her league high performance of 29, tallied as part of the Motolite Power Builders in a five-set match against Banko Perlas Spikers in the 2019 PVL Open Conference.

Carlos, who pummeled 30 attacks and an ace, proved clutch in the decisive fourth frame, where she put up the finishing touches that buoyed Creamline to a 2-0 record.

The defending champions have also extended their winning streak to 17 games, dating back to the Second All-Filipino Conference last December.

"Siyempre overall, naging maganda naman. Nakuha namin 'yung panalo, pero ang importante 'yung ready kami sa lahat ng situations. Para kung ano ‘man 'yung mangyari sa loob ng court, ready," Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses said.

Jema Galanza provided ample support with a double-double effort of 15 points and 14 excellent receptions, while Alyssa Valdez and Jeanette Panaga contributed eight and seven markers, respectively.

In their first game with the Cool Smashers, De Leon finished with five points while Revilla scooped up 11 excellent receptions.

Kyle Negrito fanned out 18 excellent sets to generate Creamline's offense, which outgunned Akari with a 65-47 spiking differential.

The Chargers dropped to a 0-2 card.

Fifi Sharma and Dindin Santiago-Manabat wound up with 14 and 13 points, respectively, that went for naught.

Creamline will attempt to stretch its unbeaten run when it collides with the Galeries Tower Highrisers on March 7, Thursday, at 4 p.m.

Akari, on the other hand, aims to barge into the win column when it faces the Farm Fresh Foxies on March 5, Tuesday, at 6 p.m.

Both matches will be held at the same Pasig venue.
