American spiker Oluoma Okaro is set to join the Akari Chargers for the upcoming PVL 2024 Reinforced Conference.

The 28-year-old opposite spiker previously played for ASP Thetis Voulas in Greece's A1 Ethniki Women’s Volleyball Championship last season. Prior to that, Okaro had a stint with Hämeenlinna Volleyball Club in Finland after her collegiate career.

Okaro started her collegiate volleyball journey at the University of San Francisco before transferring to Arizona State University. In 2017, she was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team for beach volleyball and made the All-Pac-12 Team for indoor volleyball as a senior.

Okaro will be a valuable addition to an already formidable Akari team. The team has been proactive in the offseason, acquiring Ivy Lacsina, Kamille Cal, Camille Victoria, and Dani Ravena, further bolstering their lineup.

The 6-foot-1 Okaro looks to help the Chargers achieve a stronger finish in the Reinforced Conference after finishing in 7th place with a 5-6 record in the All-Filipino Conference.

Akari is placed in Pool B, a competitive group that includes the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, Petro Gazz Angels, Cignal HD Spikers, Capital1 Solar Spikers, and the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles.

The PVL 2024 Reinforced Conference will begin on July 16.
