The PLDT High Speed Hitters overcame a tough stand from the Galeries Tower Highrisers in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
PLDT snatched its second win in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after closing out Galeries Tower in straight sets, 27-25, 25-22, 25-23, at the Ynares Center Antipolo on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
With the win, the High Speed Hitters are now tied with the Akari Chargers for first place with identical 2-0 records to start the new season.
Down 15-21 in the third set, PLDT went on a 9-1 run to put them at match point behind Savi Davison, who scored four points in the game-winning blitz.
Davison finished with a game-high 28 points, built on 26 attacks and two blocks.
The High Speed Hitters face the Capital1 Solar Spikers next Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
Meanwhile, the still-winless Highrisers will look for their first victory in the conference against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles on Nov. 28, also at the PhilSports Arena.
