From a young age, Shiela Kiseo, the former FEU Lady Tamaraw, looked up to two of the most iconic players in Philippine volleyball: Bernadeth Pons and Alyssa Valdez of the Creamline Cool Smashers.
"‘Yong volleyball idol ko po talaga since bata pa ako is Ate [Bernadeth] Pons at si Ate Alyssa Valdez," she shared.
Despite not being the tallest player on the court, Shiela draws inspiration from their incredible skills and unyielding defense, whether indoors or on the beach volleyball court.
"Like si Ate Pons, maliit siya pero grabe po ‘yong defense niya. Lahat - mapa-beach volley," she said, embodying the spirit of resilience and determination that has shaped her own game.

“Lagi ko naman siya binabanggit, si Ate Jen [Reyes],” Kath said, recalling how Jen’s fiery spirit sparked her own passion for the libero role.
“Na-amaze ako sa kaniya kasi sobrang ingay niya sa loob ng court. Tapos sobrang liksi niya, so sabi ko parang alam ko na kung ano ‘yong posisyon na gusto ko,” she added, highlighting how Jen’s agility and vocal leadership influenced her path to becoming one of the best liberos in the league.
