The Chery Tiggo Crossovers fended off the PLDT High Speed Hitters in four sets in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Chery Tiggo Crossovers ended the PLDT High Speed Hitters’ unbeaten run in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after pulling off a four-set victory, 25-12, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao on Tuesday, December 3.
The High Speed Hitters and Crossovers are tied in the standings with a 3-1 record for second place.
After bucking the third set, Chery Tiggo had to overcome PLDT’s efforts to force a fifth frame.
Down 17-19, middle blocker Seth Rodriguez came off the bench and denied Savi Davison twice to tie the game. Cess Robles later connected on a service ace to retake the lead.
With momentum on their side, the Crossovers took a three-point lead at 23-20 after an error by Erika Santos.
Davison’s service error pushed Chery Tiggo to match point before Adorador sealed the win with a through-the-block attack.
Jen Nierva was hailed the Player of the Game with 17 excellent digs and 16 excellent receptions.
Chery Tiggo will look to continue its winning ways against the slumping Akari Chargers on December 10 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Meanwhile, PLDT looks to bounce back against the Petro Gazz Angels on the same day.
