In their first encounter since their controversial semis match, the PLDT High Speed Hitters vented their ire against the Akari Chargers after winning in straight sets in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Nearly four months since their controversial semis encounter, the PLDT High Speed Hitters finally score a measure of revenge against the Akari Chargers.
PLDT flexed its might against Akari, winning in straight sets, 25-22, 25-16, 25-15, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Saturday, January 18.
Dominant all night long, the High Speed Hitters pulled away early in the third set after a 7-1 start highlighted by an Angge Alcantara ace. From there, PLDT continued to pounce on the hapless Akari squad, who played without Gretchel Soltones.
The High Speed Hitters built their largest lead at 21-9 after Erika Santos’ off-the-block attack, and Majoy Baron sealed the win with a quick tip to improve their record to 4-2. The Chargers, meanwhile, dropped to a 3-4 win-loss record.
Baron was hailed the Player of the Game with 11 points on 61.11 percent attacking efficiency.
PLDT will go for back-to-back wins against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on Thursday, January 23 still at the PhilSports Arena.
